STATIC Magazine is where Liora “Brex” Brexley publishes the strange science, future-facing ideas, and unexplained patterns that reach her through intuition.

Brex is an intuitive scientist working in 1985, but not all of her information belongs to her time. Across the distance between eras, Eva-212 transmits intuitive signals to Brex—fragments of data, scientific observations, patterns, warnings, and ideas originating from a future Brex has no ordinary way of knowing.

She doesn’t receive those transmissions like a clean download. They arrive as impressions, sketches, sudden connections, incomplete theories, images, phrases, and ideas she feels compelled to investigate. Brex then does what she does best: she studies them, questions them, experiments with them, and translates what she can into language her own time might understand.

Many of those discoveries become articles for STATIC Magazine.

Signals from the edge

To STATIC’s readers in 1985, Brex’s work can look speculative, eccentric, or impossibly ahead of its time. She writes about science that has not yet been invented, technology that should not exist, unusual biological patterns, consciousness, future medicine, and discoveries whose sources she cannot always explain.

Brex is also the author of Glitch, a novel caught in its own strange relationship with time. The manuscript currently exists in what Brex considers a “glitch state”—fragmented, displaced, and in need of reconstruction. She continues working to rewrite it, never entirely certain whether she originally imagined the story or intercepted pieces of something already happening somewhere else in time.

STATIC Magazine becomes the place where Brex can investigate those edges openly: the meeting point between intuition and evidence, imagination and science, 1985 and a future that keeps leaking backward.

Some of what Brex publishes will eventually prove remarkably close to the world of Chime.

She just doesn’t know that yet.
